PATENTED, PROVEN WEIGHT LOSS
OBESITY & DIABETES

Obesity and diabetes have become epidemic in the U.S.  The numerous consequences of obesity include Type-2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dislipidemia, hypertension, some forms of cancer, osteoarthritis, and sleep apnea, to name but a few.  Paralleling the epidemic in obesity is an increase in the incidence of Type-2 diabetes.  In 2002, 6.9% of the U.S. population, or more than 18 million Americans, were diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes, an increase of 40% relative to the data from 1990.  If this trend is not reversed, it is expected that individuals born in 2000 will have more than a 33% lifetime risk of developing Type-2 diabetes. Weight loss has been demonstrated to be effective in alleviating some of the symptoms of diabetes.

Dietary fibers have been reported to reduce the absorption of dietary fat, prevent weight gain, and reduce blood lipid levels.  In the current double-blind study, obese patients with Type-2 diabetes were recruited for a 3-month study to examine the health effects of a new dietary fiber, FBCx.

Sixty-six participants were recruited and randomly placed into FBCx or placebo groups.  They were instructed to take 2 one-gram tablets per fat-containing meal, and not to change their eating patterns or daily routines.  Three-day dietary records and fasting blood samples were collected prior to enrollment in the study, and at the end of months one, two, and three.

The final conclusions of the study revealed that due to the ability of FBCx to block fat absorption in the body, it shows promising benefits in wight management, a reduction of blood lipids, and an increase in adiponectin levels.  In simple terms, FBCx binds with fat molucules, preventing them from being absorbed.  When fats are reduced in the body, blood lipid (fat) levels go down, cholesterol levels can be reduced, and insulin sensitivity is increased.

In the following video, Dr. George Grunberger (Chairman of the Grunberger Diabetes Institute, and clinical professor in internal medicine, and molecular medicine and genetics at the Wayne State University School of Medicine) discusses how Mirafit can be of benefit for those suffering with diabetes or who deal with insulin sensitivity issues or other metabolic syndromes.
